Suspense
A suspenseful
moment in my novel, "Galveston" is when the characters are
preparing for the storm. Three elements
that I think contribute to the suspense are the setting, foreshadowing, and the
point of view. The story is set out on an island in the middle of nowhere, with
little contact with the rest of the world.
Also, I think foreshadowing played a big part in the suspense of this
novel because throughout the novel there was much talk about a hurricane coming.
The point of view, third person, added suspense also, because it allows the
reader to hear the thoughts and emotions of all the characters.
